Hoover High School
With its LEED Silver Certification, Hoover High School has been turned into an ecologically dependable motivating force. The institution's great flat rooftop is a model site for PV technology to gather sunshine and create electricity. The roof mounted system consists of 84 solar panels and an SMA inverter to produce more than 19,000 watts of energy. Hoover High was awarded to Sullivan Solar Power in August of 2010. The end result is the school's satisfaction with the environmental and financial gains the system provides.
On average, each year a solar energy system this size will:
Generate 29,610 to 39,480 kilowatt hours of clean renewable solar power.
Avoid the creation of 48,955 pounds of harmful carbon dioxide released into our air.
Provide the system owner with $8,686 in Solar Power Savings.
